PIANO SCHOOL

Clare kaszubowski
I started learning the piano when I was nine years old. Inspired by my Grandad, Douglas Charles Norman. I continued to learn the piano through the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music, piano performance exams and also took part in the annual Gillingham and Medway Music Festival. I continued my studies through attending Goldsmiths College in London, where I thoroughly enjoyed my time studying piano performance.
The piano for me has always played different roles within my life but it has always remained with me and I would like to share my passion and hopefully inspire others to love it as much as I do.
At the Piano School our core focus is helping you to fulfill your passion for music.
You might be a great pianist, have had piano lessons as a child and given up, or you might never have played at all.
Either way, there is a simple truth playing piano does not need to be a struggle and with our powerful teaching methods, you will get the chance to experience ALL that music has to offer from improvisation, jazz, songwriting, chords and using better classical music outside the "piano exam world".
We firmly believe that it is never too late to start, neither do you lack talent, and that you can still improve your piano playing immensely if you are already a proficient amateur pianist. Excellent education and proper motivation will definitely take you to a higher standard of piano playing.

Viv Rodd
Jazz Pianist/Composer/Arranger/Educator Viv started starting studying on Piano and Trombone at the age of 12. Over a period of 6 years Viv pursued a parallel process of Jazz and Classical studies which shaped the early days of Vivs creative musical development and exploration. At the age of 19, a three-year classical piano scholarship was offered to study at the Royal School of Music in London. Not having an ambition to pursue a career as a classical pianist, Viv turned this down in favour of becoming principle pianist on the famous ocean liner R.M.S. Queen Marys Southampton to New-York run. Searching out New Yorks Jazz venues in the 60s, Viv sat in and played with many of the greats including: Sonny Rollins, Clark Terry, Charles Mingus, Roy Eldridge, Mark Murphy and many others. Viv spent many years travelling worldwide (mostly with own group), and backed hundreds of top artists in clubs worldwide. Generally regarded as first choice accompanist to many Jazz artists visiting the West.
